Monica Lee grew up in Seoul, Korea and was a nurse by training. Her favorite hobby was cooking and she always had a passion for food. When she moved to the United States, she noticed that the Korean restaurants in Los Angeles offered a variety of Korean food but none specialized in one particular dish.
In 1986, Monica started her first restaurant, featuring tofu as her specialty. She learned how to make her own tofu and created her perfect Korean soup. Since then, the restaurateur has two other restaurant ventures under her belt and has participated in community projects including the Tofu Festival in Little Tokyo, Echo Park's Lotus Festival, and the Yelp's Korean BBQ Cookout. She loves to cook and hopes to continue to share her love of food with others for years to come!
